Candidates choose to change jobs and companies for a variety of different reasons.  Some of the most popular reasons for engaging in a new job search are:

. You have accomplished your goals, and now you feel unchallenged in your current position,

. You are lacking in professional and career growth opportunities with your existing company,

. Your life situation has changed and your salary and benefits no longer support your needs,

. Your company is experiencing a downward spiral, losing customers, or facing bankruptcy,

. Your relationship with your manager is damaged, or frustrating,

. You work in a team environment, but your team is dysfunctional and there is no hope for change,

. Your values are at odds with the corporate culture of the company that you work for,

. Your company is ethically challenged,

. You have stopped having fun at work and dread Mondays!

When is the best time to contact your firm?

Timing is everything…

Successful placements take place when both the opportunity (job opening) and timing (candidate is looking for a new job that matches the opportunity) are aligned. As a job seeker, if you know that you are soon ready to make a change, you should be contacting our search firm at least 3 months in advance of your job change timeline.  If we know well in advance as to why you are wishing to make a change, and what the next ideal company and position looks like for you, we are then in a position to “proactively” present you with meaningful job opportunities, as they arise.  It is dangerous to assume that the perfect job will be immediately available, once you are already unemployed.

Career changes should be well thought out and there should be a plan in place so that the transition is smooth, and so that there is little or no financial interruption in your earnings.  Also, you want to be in a positive frame of mind throughout your job search so that you make decisions from a position of confidence and power.  To do this, you need to be job searching at least 3 months in advance of your employment end date.

If you have a goal, or a type of opportunity that would be of interest to you, we would like to hear about it.  Our team works hard to add value and the best way for us to do that is to know you, and know what matters to you.  As your trusted advisor, we will present you with career opportunities that are meaningful and beneficial to you, based on the information that you provide us.

Why should I work with “your” search firm?

There are actually a multitude of important reasons that you should be represented by a search firm.

space

. We already have credible and respectful relationships with hiring managers.  Therefore, when we represent you and share your profile with our client groups, you automatically get a serious review by the hiring managers.  Our clients know that we have already pre-screened your qualifications and suitability for the position thus strengthening your chances of getting chosen for further consideration.

 space

. When you apply on your own, you are competing with 100’s of other applicants and you can easily get lost in the volume of applicants that companies receive. When you work with us, your profile and resume is sent directly to the hiring manager and is selected for immediate review.

 space

. We don’t just send your resume…we highlight your skills, accomplishments, and create a “candidate profile” that shows exactly how you are qualified for the position…we actually market you, on your behalf, and highlight to our clients exactly how your background is a great match for their opening.

 space

. We know the personalities involved in our clients’ hiring process.  Therefore, we are able to assist our candidates throughout the hiring process by showing them how to prepare for the interview; prepare for different personality types, and how to prepare to ask the right questions during the interview.

space

. Through our network of clients and professional relationships, we have access to job openings and confidential searches that the open market would not have access to.

 space

. Our relationships are with both our clients and our candidates.  Unless both parties are happy with our service, we do not earn our service fees.  It makes both professional and financial sense for us to advocate on your behalf; highlight your profile, and represent you in the most ethical, professional, and productive way possible.

We understand that in choosing to work with us, you place trust in us.  We strive to be deserving of that trust and to exceed your expectations in everything we do.  We offer transparency and candour in all of our interactions.

We invite you to ask us any questions you may have about what to expect from us in the process.

Will you charge me for your services?

Absolutely not.  We are hired by companies within Canada, the US, and Europe to assist them in hiring for their organizations.  We are paid by our clients to identify, locate, interview, market, represent, and reference check potential candidates for their open positions.  If our clients value the skills and experience of the candidate(s) that we market and present to them, then they ask us to arrange for an in-person interview between themselves and our candidate(s).  If all goes well up to that point, we then work with both our client and our candidate to negotiate an offer of employment.  Once and offer of employment has been signed off on, our client pays our search firm a candidate placement fee.  Throughout this entire process, there is no cost to the job seeker.
